Stalking Weekly

This weeks stalks include sweets, scents, soul, icons, and relief.

1. Le Mervetty

My brother surprised me with some luxurious sweets from Le Mervetty in Beverly Hills.  We both had our heart set on going together, but because I’ve been out of commission, I haven’t been able to go.  So to cheer me up, he arrived with these delectable noms to brighten my day.  Let me tell you, they were sooo good! I felt like I was eating a delicious fluffy cloud.  Just thinking about it makes me want some more.

2. Mitsouko by Guerlain

This perfume by Guerlain is my current Spring scent obsession.  I can’t get enough of it. I was extremely happy to get this as a birthday gift from the hubs this month.  It’s a velvety spicy light scent with a hint of peach and jasmine.  A great signature perfume for sure.

3.  The Untethered Soul

I usually meditate everyday, but before I do that, I like to read something soulful or spiritual.  My current read is The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer.  I’m about 5 chapters in, and it’s pretty good.  It really makes you contemplate on the question, “Who Am I?”, and most importantly teach you how to disconnect from the “movie” that you’re in to find inner peace.

4. Harper’s Bazaar Emojis

I was so excited when I saw these fashionable emojis, but it soon turned bittersweet.  I downloaded the app on my iPad (only available for iOS) to soon find out that you can’t actually use it for it’s designed purpose.  It doesn’t work on the keyboard.  You can share it to your social media, but as a picture, not as emoji so that was disappointing.  You can also email or text the emoji, but it does the same thing.  It was a great idea, but big flop.  Maybe they’ll work out the kinks later.

5. Salt, Heat, & Pills

All week, I have been trying to nurture my poor knee and back from pain.  It’s pretty horrible because , at times, I can’t even sleep at night.  I did go to the doctors, and I was given some pain meds.  So right now, I’m doing my best impression of Elizabeth Taylor and using a heating pad, soaking with bath salts, & popping some pills.  Maybe in a couple of weeks, I ‘ll start feeling more like Beyonce again, hehehe.  (P.S. if you know any knee pain remedies, let me know)

Soapy Delicacies

I have an appetite for macaroons only these are not for eating.

I am trying to complete my Alice in Wonderland themed guest bathroom, and I’m about 80% done [check out my Alice hand towels here].  I  have this jar that I got at Home Goods that I have been meaning to fill.  I thought  why not make it an “Eat Me” jar full of some type of pastry.  Enter my idea on looking for soap desserts.

I went on Etsy (I love supporting local artists), and found a shop by the name of Savon Marie or (Marie’s Soaps).  She is a retired school librarian who has a penchant for handcrafting soaps since 1999.  What stood out to me besides her beautiful artistry is her packaging and presentation of the bubbly soaps.  I mean I wanted to get everything, but I had to focus and just get the Macaroons for now, hehe.

I decided on getting 3 sets of macaroons in the scent of Lemon, Apricot, and Raspberry.  You have the option of getting one big mamma jamba macaroon or 3 full size macaroons for the price of $7.95.  I choose the full size, so I ended getting a total of 9 full size macaroons.  I thought that would be enough to fill up my apothecary jar.

Macaroon1

I was anticipating the arrival of my inedible treats like a little girl at a candy store.  When my shipment arrived, it did not disappoint.  I opened up my box so delicately and took off the foam macaroni.  The first thing I saw was a cute tag that said “Merci”; I was already excited! I then reached in and saw the most exquisitely adorable round boxes with pink lids and bottoms, a Marie Antoinette seal that says “never enough”, and sparkly ribbon that tied it all together, I was in heaven! I also found a lovely surprise in my box.  She included 3 fluer de lis soaps in different scents.  Sooo nice!

On a side note, I had to include a picture of my pup Cash who made a cameo appearance while I was taking pictures, hehe.

In the end, I was so happy with my purchase, not to mention my jar looks great!  All I have to do is make a little tag that says “Eat Me” to hang around the lid.  Although i’m considering, also adding a sign that says “Don’t Use”, haha!  Maybe that’s a  little too much, right, LOL? I think my guests have proper etiquette to not use the decorative soap ( I hope).

Let me know what you think of my jar outcome!

Until next time, I bid Adieu!

Eye Must Have

EyeMustHave

I’m the kind of person that even if I partied a little too much, I still manage to wash my face and follow my nightly beauty regime.

Once upon a time ago, I drank a little too much, I threw up inside my friend’s car , all over myself  ( I know not a pretty picture) ,and yet I still managed to come home and follow my night-time beauty routine.   If that’s not dedication and hard work, I don’t know what is! And the funny part is, I don’t even remember being carried to my bed, I just remember waking up to a fresh face and soft lips. Oh, to be a teen again….kidding (I was 22).

The point of my story?  Beauty does matter, there’s no excuse. Even if you’re intoxicated or go home with a guy, you should always remember to pack the essentials: moisturizer, face wash, mouth wash, and most importantly, eye cream!

I was 21 when my mom first recommended that I start using eye cream.   She’s always said that one’s age can always be noticed around the eyes, neck, and hands. Five years later, I still get carded every time I try to watch an R rated film.

And since I am in such a good mood, I decided to share my top three eye creams:

L’OCCITANE’S Divine Eyes:

loccitaneeyecream

At first, I was a little hesitant to buy it because I thought the sales lady just wanted to sell me things I didn’t need.   But before I walked out, she gave me a stack of samples to try at home. Naturally, I jumped at the chance and the next thing you know, I became addicted. I did notice improvement around my eyes so if you’re willing to shell out the $76 for cream, do it. You won’t be disappointed.

Lush’s Enchanted Eye Cream:

lushenchantedeyecream

I actually got this as a present (til this day, I still wonder if it was meant as an insult but whatever).   After using it for over a month, I noticed that my dark circles were fading away.   Well, to be honest, lately, I’ve been all about giving myself a reasonable amount of sleep from 4-11.  I would definitely recommend this lotion because it doesn’t involve harsh chemicals and it works.   So if you’re all about natural products, this would be the one for you.  $27

Avon’s Elements Moisture Boost Eye Cream:

avoneyecream

I know most of you have a tia (that’s “aunt” for non-Spanish speakers) who sells Avon, so do yourself a favor and order ten of these. I was so shocked that this eye cream worked!   This works wonders for those of you who have oily or combination skin (like me).  It’s not too oily and I noticed results in about 2 weeks, no joke.   And for the price, everyone should try it because it’s pretty affordable.   This is definitely meant for those who want beauty on a budget. $9

Stalking Weekly

I’m a little late on my weekly roundup, but it has been a hectic week with doctor visits and school work.  Nonetheless, I wanted to share what we have been stalking this week!

1. French Music

Lately, I have been in a French mood.  I’ve never been to France, but it’s a definite on my to do list.  So for now I have been on a French music kick.  I’m currently rockin’ some Brigitte Bardot.

2.  Gemma Correll’s Tumblr

This cartoonist, writer, and illustrator has been bringing a smile to my  face on a weekly basis with her cute and funny illustrations.  If you are looking for a quick pick me up, check her Tumblr or blog out.  She will turn your frown upside down 🙂

3.  Chanel Headphones

Yes, it’s happening! Chanel & Monster teamed up to make some quilted Chanel headphones and I’m obsessed (let’s be hones, they had me at “Chanel”)!   I probably won’t be able to afford them, but a girl can dream to have it’s lovely softness caressing her ears as she is listening to some French music of course!

4. Doggie Yoga

So apparently doggie yoga is the latest trend, and I’m so close to trying it.  I know it might sound silly, but how cute would it be bringing your pup to yoga class or in my case Youtube-ing  it and following along in the privacy of my own home, hehe. I’m sure my Cash would love it!

Cash not amused with doggie yoga! LOL!

5. This Week’s Mantra

I read an interview on society icon Lynn Wyatt where she defined her personal style as, “Class with a dash of sass but never trash.”  I think I fell in love with her at that moment.  I thought her answer was so brilliant, I had to adopt it as my own  forever fashion mantra.  Thank you Lynn for your wise words.

A Diva + An Heiress + Adam Levine’s Ex = The Face

thefacegirls

I’ve always felt that if I wasn’t born being me, I totally would have been a model.   Imagine being flown around on private jets, getting free merch and rubbing elbows with dukes and princes! I mean what’s not to love? Unfortunately, I love food and my body way too much for that to happen. So what’s the next best thing? Living vicariously through them…duh!

When I was younger, I was addicted to America’s Next Top Model, but now that I’m older (not too old of course), I stopped watching. I felt like Tyra was too nice, you know she secretly wants to tell the girls, “listen bitch, you’re not me so pack up your shit and go home.” No disrespect to Ty of course because if it weren’t for her, I’d still be paying for lemonade and ice cream!

Anyways, the  other day my friend was talking about how she wanted to dye her hair, but she didn’t know what color. So, we did a bunch of research and came across Lydia Hearst’s new color (which, I’m in LOVE with) and that’s when it hit me that she’s on THE FACE, which I’ve been meaning to watch. I felt like this was a sign from God because after programming it in my DVR, I sat down to watch it and it has now become my NEW obsession.

It’s insanely brilliant.!  Naomi Campbell makes being a bitch so chic, it’s ridic, “oh yay! Honey, you got one!” I’m just waiting for Anne V to slap her!

March Madness Roundup

It’s time for our March Madness roundup!

MarchMadness

1. Essie’s Luxeffects– I just picked up Essie’s Shattered Pink Diamond Glitz polish at Target and I’m simply obsessed. I put a pink polish base and then layered it with the shimmering sparkles.  It’s a definite spring color must! $8.50

2. American Apparel Sturdy Leather Tote–  I’ve been spying on this bag for a while now.  They used to have it in a brown color, but now they only have it in natural or black so I think I’m going to go for the natural one.  $170

3. Emerald by Joanna Hardy I love jewels! So when I saw this book on 21 centuries of bejeweled opulence and power, I though it would be a great addition to my coffee table. $79

4. Painted Mason Jar Candle– I absolutely fell in love with this jar at Marshalls so much that I decided to get 3!  I have a pink & green one, and the third one (a yellow one) I gave as a present to one of my friends who goes gaga for mason jars. $9

5. Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser– I bought this face wash as an impulse buy when I went into Barneys New York and let me tell you it was the best purchase I’ve ever made.  It leaves your skin feeling smooth and like a million bucks.  It smells good too! So if you’re looking for a beauty product splurge this is the one to get. $30

6. Goal Digger Eco Tank I thought this was such a cute motivating idea for a workout shirt.  It’s from an Etsy shop called Everfitte .  Only problem is they only go up to a size “L”.  Do I see a DIY in my near future? Great word art concept though.  They also have other shirts w/ great sayings.  Go check them out and let us know which one you like. $26

7. No-Crease Black & Grey Bow Clips– I came across these really cool clips to help your hair stay in place while styling without leaving a crease.  According to Ricky’s NYC, they are a backstage fashion & runway show fav! $6

8. Avon’s Element Night  Gel Cream Oil–  Okay, so we looovve Avon, and this beauty night cream is one of our favorites to date from them.  It’s hypoallergenic and it feels velvety soft on your skin.  It’s a great buy for sure.  $9

What are you MAD for this month?

Wish or Miss: Camo

Kate-Upton-for-Sam-Edelman-Spring-Summer-2014-Campaign-01

I was looking through my magazines recently and saw Kate Upton modeling  camo sandals for Sam Edelman, and I was like “ummm….no thank you.”

As much as I love fashion and the next trend, I can never get into camouflage anything.  I don’t care how cool designers try and make it look, it’s not sexy, cute, or stylish.  Maybe if I was in the army, I would try to make it werk there, but other than that, camo for me is a definite Miss.

What are your thoughts?

Is it a Wish or Miss for you?
