The very much anticipated TopShop did its unveiling this Valentine’s Day at The Grove in Los Angeles. Since I love anything and everything fashion, on a sunny Thursday afternoon, I donned my best Tom Ford shades and sashayed my way over to see what all the hype was about. The former Banana Republic store is now a mutant cross between an H&M and a Forever 21 with Nordstrom prices. They also had so much security, I felt like I just walked into a Cartier store, even though this would be more like a Zales. Does Kevin Jewelers need the Secret Service?
There were some cute fashionable (operative word being cute) items for both women and men, but the quality was no different than Forever 21 or H&M. Same for the the Jewelry, the designs were on par, but you wouldn’t want to pay that much just to leave a trail of stones behind you at the bar or drop them in your drink. So if you really have the urge to buy a $300 dress just save your dollars and mosey on down to Nordy’s where the quality is better, the service is great, and you don’t feel like a criminal.
On the bright side, I did find some delicious coconut cashew brittle over by the Farmer’s Market area to soothe my disappointment.
